After the devasting floods in Thailand the Hard drive manufacturers have rebuilt factories and preflood levels of hard drive supply and importantly also prices in most cases have now been achieved.

Hard drive factories are slowly coming back online and prices are stablizing , it is hopped all factories will be up and running fully by last quater of 2012.
External hard drive prices are already showing signs of coming down , and capacity is set to increase.
Solid state hard drives have had a surge of sales and indications are that the increased volumes of sales maybe going to lead to price reductions later this year.
