Worldwide Hard Disk Drive shortage  
Flooding in Thailand has disrupted supply of some HDD components.
This is causing shortages
and hence prices are rising daily!
Pricing of HDDs will not necessarily reflect current costs so please check for updates on pricing for system or individual sales.
  How severe is the situation at the moment
Western Digital – 60% of their manufacturing
capacity is 2meter under water!
Toshiba – stopped manufacturing all HDD
as the factory is completely paralysed.
Hitachi – Stopped manufacturing HDD in Thailand. 
 Seagate – still analysing damage made by the flood
 The above totals 50% of world’s HDD production wiped out by the flood.
